The management rights for Boardwalk Burleigh Beach are owned and operated exclusively by PCJ MR Pty Ltd a highly respects Gold Coast family business that is owned by successful Gold Coast businessmen Frank Picone, Paul Picone, Jason Picone and Craig Picone. In addition to owning the management and letting rights to Boardwalk Burleigh Beach, the Picone Family also own the rights to other signature Gold Coast resorts; Qube Broadbeach and Synergy Broadbeach located in prime locations within the high demand Broadbeach area. Both resorts are the closest apartment resorts to the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre. In fact they are directly on the opposite side of the street.
Frank Picone is highly regarded as the most successful independent owner and operator of Management Rights businesses on the Gold Coast. Bringing nearly 40 years’ of success in this very field to the table, Frank has gained the advantage of knowing and understanding the requirements and expectations demanded by holiday makers and corporate guests alike and draws from his vast experience to ensure these are constantly met. Combining these assets with his his extensive knowledge and experience to the insistence in providing that personal touch that only a family business can provide, has been a key ingredient in maintaining his resorts amongst the most highly sought after and successful on the Gold Coast for decades.
The Towers of Chevron Renaissance (Surfers Paradise) , Gemini Court (Burleigh Heads), Ocean Plaza Resort (Coolangatta) and The Phoenician Resort Apartments and Wave Resort (Broadbeach) are perfect examples of resorts, under the management of Frank Picone, that have provided a wonderful experiences for guests since the early 1980’s.
Previously, Frank was often the sole owner of the businesses he managed, but in recent years, he has been joined by his three sons, Jason, and Paul Picone (under the banner of PCJ MR Pty Ltd).
Over the years, Paul Picone has extensive knowledge in all facets of the management letting rights industry having actively worked in the operational areas of his father’s businesses since the 80’s. Frank strongly believed working in all positions of any resort provided a much richer experience, knowledge and appreciation of each area of resort management and has been instrumental in the breadth of knowledge in all areas that Paul Picone possesses today. Soon, Paul Picone partnered with Frank in key projects such as opening the high profile Diamond Beach Resort (Broadbeach, Gold Coast); well regarded as the most successful management letting rights resort of the 90’s. Paul Picone’s role as General Manager of Diamond Beach Resort saw him guide this business to the level that it was seen as a key acquisition target for the then “BreakFree Resorts” (now Mantra Group) who purchased the resort from Paul and Frank Picone.

The list of other impressive resorts Paul Picone has been associated with in the past (either actively as owner/operator or as a key role for his father Frank’s business) include:
Phoenician Health and Spa Resort at Broadbeach, Ocean Plaza Resort at Coolangatta, Gemini Court at Burleigh Heads and Broadbeach on the Park. Shortly afterwards, the following resorts were added to the portfolio: Rise Apartments (Noosa), Swell Apartments (Burleigh Heads), Carmel By The Sea (Broadbeach), The Coolum Beach Retreat (Coolum), Freshwater Point and The Wave (Broadbeach), Shearwater Resort (Caloundra) and finally, The Beach (Cabarita NSW).
The pinnacle of Frank Picone’s history saw him purchase the letting and management rights to the Towers of Chevron Renaissance in 2009, which was the Gold Coast’s largest strata titled resort. Appointing Paul Picone as General Manager, it became widely accepted as the largest and most successful management rights acquisition on the Gold Coast prior to being acquired from Frank by the Mantra Group in September 2015.
Paul Picone’s experience in all areas has provided him a detailed working knowledge of all areas of the business. Armed with this knowledge, Paul Picone empowers his management and staff to operate within a very flat structure to enable his resorts to react swiftly to changes in the working environment and more importantly for our guests, to ensure they are provided the best personal service possible. Paul insists the “family business” culture of his the business is maintained to ensure guests constantly receive a friendly and personalised experience, yet done in a professional manner to guarantee the ongoing success of the business.
Hot on Paul’s heels, it wasn’t long (the late 90’s in fact) before Frank’s other two sons, Craig and Jason, became involved with the business. Jason and Craig were soon managing several resorts for the group: Coolum Beach Retreat (Sunshine Coast) and Swell Resort (Burleigh Heads) before accepting senior roles with Paul Picone at the Towers of Chevron Renaissance. The success of this resort is widely recognised and their contribution no doubt was also critical to this resort’s success.
After the aquisition of Towers of Chevron Renaissance from Frank Picone by the Mantra Group in September 2015, Frank, Craig, Jason and Paul Picone combined as equal partners in acquiring the management rights for the exciting and popular Synergy Broadbeach, Qube Broadbeach and Boardwalk Burleigh Beach resorts . Today, they continue to apply their proven “family business” ethos to these recently completed resorts and the results so far, continue the reputation that preceded them.
